It all starts here

First day

Welcoming and settling in the house, taking possession of the place and discovering the environment of the premises and the serenity that emanates from the walls.

Bourgogne is available to you : just let go.

Evening comes : plan your dinner in one of the many restaurants in the area : the Bouzeron restaurant in Bouzeron is highly recommended.

 


Day 2

 

A tour in Chalon sur Saône Market (local food producers) , a visit at the Saint Vincent Cathedral, lunch in one of the many restaurants in the heart of the old town, a visit at the "Niepce Museum" and back to Mercurey vineyards  for a few hours of well deserved rest. Dinner at La Garenne restaurant, 4 km away, accompanied by a delicious Pouilly-Fuissé Domaine de la Garenne of course !

 


Day 3


Departure for the largest local producers market in France located in Louhans : the medieval town of 157 arcades and its traditional Monday morning market, ranked one of the best markets of France (food and poultry : the famous Bresse chicken) , quaint and animated trip in the Bresse region. Lunch in the town to discover the famous local "calf's head" recipe. Back in Mercurey for an afternoon tour/tasting at Château de Chamirey , one of the flagship estate of the appellation Mercurey : visit wineries, lecture of terroirs , wine tasting of the five family estates : immersion in wine lands. A pleasant evening dinner at the Clos du Roi house after going to "La Marmite de Caro" caterer to select nice local dishes or still appeal to the "Chef Tomas" for making a home meal with subtle and delicate taste. Another beautiful day ends ...


Day 4

And if the day was intended to laze in the Clos du Roi's house, reading books, walking between vineyards and crucifixes. A whole day to discover Mercurey and its appellation. You can also have lunch (upon reservation) at  the Table d'Hôtes of Château de Chamirey  accompanied with great nectars from Côte Chalonnaise and its Burgundian secrets. The dinner will be held, at l'Annexe restaurant located in Givry, with some Givry wines, which were the wines favorite of King Henry the 4th ! Moderate carbon footprint for these few hours without cars !

 


Day 5

Between the North and the South my heart balances : Dijon or Mâcon, just 40 minutes by car to reach either of these beautiful Burgundian capitals. The city center and cobbled streets will seduce you and you will enjoy following the footsteps of the "Owl circuit" in Dijon or to cool off on the terrace at "La Maison de Bois" in Mâcon . Of course, you are sure to do a little shopping and bring back some local sweets ... After this "urban" getaway, back to the countryside to recharge before a dinner at Lameloise in Chagny (7 km), the *** Michelin restaurant again voted best restaurant in the world !


Day 6

Today, let's hit towards the famous city of Beaune : it's Hospices and its wine museum. Take the time to discover by foot this pretty little town well situated at the edge of the largest vineyards in the world ! You will not miss the lunch at "Les Cocottes" or if your appetite is ready to settle for a gourmet lunch you should go to l'Hostellerie de Levernois a few laps of the historic center of Beaune.


Day  7

A passage in southern Burgundy could not be complete without a visit to Cluny and its abbey. It was founded in 910 and knew from the next century an exceptional influence that extended to the entire Christian Europe . En route, you can stop to discover the Château de Cormatin and it's unexpected green labyrinth. You will discover along the way, one of the finest route crossing Bourgogne, via Tournus and joining via Chapaize . So go ahead and drive ...


Day 8

Fairy tales and vacations always come to an end. For the last day, we invite you to take time to relax and enjoy your accommodation and a wonderful view over the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise and its great vineyards.
